The centuries-old La Chamba range from South America is loved by home cooks and top chefs alike. Each piece is traditionally moulded by hand to ensure its uniqueness. La Chamba is made from terracotta with a natural clay glaze and has been used for food preparation and cooking for centuries. Each piece is fired at temperatures of approximately 600°C and is therefore safe for use on the stove, in the oven, microwave and under the grill. All pieces can be used over direct heat gas, on the barbeque and even on an open fire. Wooden utensils are recommended. Prior to first use each piece should be cleaned thoroughly with mild detergent and then filled ¾ full with water and placed in oven at 200°C for 30 mins. This process allows the La Chamba to seal. Cleaning – Use a mild detergent and sponge. Metal scouring pads may scratch or tarnish the surface. La Chamba is dishwasher safe.
